The Kili/Bikini/Ejit Local Government mayor and council was sworn in for duty earlier this week at the courthouse.

High Court Chief Justice Carl Ingram administered the oath of office to new Mayor Anderson Jibas followed by all council members, except Marilyn Lokebol, who was sworn in last week by TRC Chief Judge Walter Elbon as she was going off island. The November 16 election produced the biggest turnover ever for the KBE Council, with 11 of the 15 council seats seeing new faces. The KBE Council also has the youngest member in its history, Jukulius Niedenthal, who is 26.
