No more cooking inside the marine science laboratory for College of the Marshall Islands (CMI) Nutrition 114 Class because a new kitchen fully equipped with cookware is now in place.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) provided funding for the new kitchen through its LDS Charities, the church’s humanitarian organization.
During an opening ceremony last week Wednesday, Elder Craig Preston said the church is always looking for ways to help the community, especially on health needs. An opportunity presented itself in the January 6, 2017 issue of the Marshall Islands Journal which reported CMI nutrition class needing help. LDS officials approached CMI on the matter and a plan came into place.
