When it comes to Majuro leadership — Ministers Brenson Wase, Kalani Kaneko, and Tony Muller, Senators Sherwood Tibon and David Kramer, and Mayor Ladie Jack — student development is a priority as evidenced in last week’s christening of Delap Elementary School’s multi-purpose basketball court.

The presence of all five Majuro senators with the entire local government during the opening attests to this support.

The multi-purpose court is one of countless donations by the Republic of China. Mayor Jack and ROC Ambassador Daniel Tang exchanged words of thanks and comradeship, adding that such installation is part of a long-term mutual friendship.

Associate Commissioner for Primary Schools Hanna Lafita said the development supports DES’s current status of accreditation with WASC.

The event ended with leaders showcasing their free throw skills, one that entertained the mass of students, teachers and parents on site.
