Marshall Islands President Hilda Heine and Cabinet members welcomed new Japan Ambassador Norio Saito and his wife Atsuko to the Marshall Islands.

President Hilda Heine accepted the diplomatic credentials of newly appointed Japan Ambassador to the RMI Norio Saito during a presentation of credential ceremony held at the Cabinet conference room Monday. Ambassador Saito was accompanied by his wife Atsuko Saito and officials from the Embassy of Japan. President Heine congratulated Ambassador Saito for being appointed Japan’s second resident ambassador to the RMI and assured him the fullest cooperation and support from the RMI government in assisting him discharge his duties.

“The RMI remains fully committed to enhancing diplomatic relations through bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Japan,” stated President Heine.

Ambassador Saito previously served as the Consul-General in Guangzhou after serving as Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan in China.
