Nine scholarships to go to ROC

The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) announced that six Marshallese high school graduates have been awarded the Taiwan Scholarship sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and three young Marshallese were awarded the Higher Education Scholarship Program sponsored by the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF).

This year’s MOFA Taiwan Scholarship students are: Nicole Case, Chris Jibas, Leanora Kabua, Beverly Lomae, Kormiko Masao and Jefferson Wase. They are scheduled to depart for a period of five years in Taiwan by the end of August. The TaiwanICDF Scholarship awarded young Marshallese are Jean Phillip, Jerel Anitok and Charlynne Andrike-Alfred. They are scheduled to depart for I-Shou University in Kaohsiung City in early September for four years at the School of Medicine.

The group visited with Ambassador Chen at the ROC Embassy in Majuro earlier this month.
