Ten new bicycles, including helmets and rear flashing lights for the only bikers’ club on island, College of the Marshall Islands based Baninnur Club, were received from Do It Best last week. The items were purchased through a $2,000 grant funded by the Kiwanis Club of LaJolla, California.

Baninnur Club co-founder Winder Loeak said there are now 14 bicycles for the club. The club is aiming for more bikes and bicycle use and safety trainings in the future. The purpose of the bikes is to allow community participation, which is part of the goals to fight diabetes and promote reduction of fossil fuel. Bikes are available for one-week sign-out.
