The Marshall Islands Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Australian Embassy in Majuro and the RMI government through the Office of Commerce, Investment and Tourism, welcomed a business delegation from the Australia Pacific Islands Business Council to Majuro.

The visit marked an important step toward strengthening private-sector cooperation and economic ties between Australia and the Marshall Islands, said Chamber President Jasmine Loeak-Myazoe.

A key highlight of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the the Chamber and the Australia Pacific Islands Business Council formalizing a partnership aimed at promoting trade, investment opportunities, and business collaboration between the two countries.

Jasmine, together with Council President Simon Gorman, signed the MOU.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation between the Chamber and the Council to support stronger engagement between Marshallese and Australian businesses. “The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge sharing, encourage private-sector partnerships, and identify potential areas of investment that support sustainable development in the RMI,” she said.

The visiting delegation included senior representatives from Australian firms specializing in water security, telecommunications infrastructure, renewable energy systems, infrastructure technologies, and trade facilitation — sectors that are critical to the development and resilience of Pacific Island economies.
