Following signing of an agreement between Vice President of the University of the Ryukyus Ryuji Ishikawa and College of the Marshall Islands President Theresa Koroivulaono, CMI is now able to send two students instead of just one to study at the university in Okinawa, Japan.
The University of the Ryukyus opened an undergraduate exchange program early last year for CMI students in their junior year. Initially, the program was supposed to accept only one student — the same with two other Pacific island universities — but as of Monday another spot has opened, the first one belonging to Sladen Jieta who started his one-year language studies in Okinawa last fall.
