“We should chase each other to learn and teach that which is ours and rooted in our culture,” Wilbert Alik, Marshallese Studies Chairman told his students during their culture course show-and-tell final presentation recently.
They showcased a variety of Marshallese dishes including lokeed (shellfish), bwiro (fermented breadfruit), and amulikwekwe (Namdrik banana recipe). It was a source of pride and adventure for the students to demonstrate their indigenous cooking skills.
