No blue Monday here

A Public Works road repair crew was spotted in Uliga early Monday morning. Kevin deBrum, giving the Journal photographer a thumbs up, together with Win Jetton. Photo: Giff Johnson.

Personally, we like Mondays. A lot of people complain about blue Monday and so on, but for us it’s just another day to move around and see what’s happening in town.

Further to this blue Monday thing, workers at government offices are often criticized for showing up late to work etc.

So there we were, driving Uliga back road past MIC and coming out to the main road at 8:30am Monday when we spotted a Public Works team already well into their pot hole fixing routine.

So don’t give these guys grief about “kamatte” (loosely translated as wasting time). They were ready and into it when we stopped our vehicle to capture the moment. A little later, we also spied another Public Works crew in a different part of town fixing holes. These guys are on it!
