It was that time of the day when the golden light brushes all it touches with a special aura. And so it was when four paddlers belonging to the Majol Canoe Paddling Club swished by Mobil and onwards to Matt Holly’s front yard and then Uliga Dock.

The “Majol Men” belong to one of the two of the Marshall Islands Canoe Paddling Federation clubs, the other being the Majuro Ocean Sports Club.

According to Federation official Tatiana Shoniber, all of Majuro’s paddlers are currently training for the “upcoming Micronesia Cup in Palau on October 24 to 26. This will mark the club’s second time competing in this regional canoe race.”

As a result, Tatiana expects the “RMI community will be seeing paddlers in the lagoon for the next five months training for this event.”

She added that the men practice on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the women practice Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
