Paul takes up DC role

RMI Ambassador Charles Paul is congratulated by President David Kabua, right, following the oath of office ceremony at the RMI Embassy in Washington, DC in late September.

New Marshall Islands Ambassador to Washington Charles “Akeke” Paul was sworn into office last week Monday in Washington, DC.

The ceremony was conducted by High Court Chief Justice Carl Ingram, who was in Majuro, through a Zoom link with the RMI Embassy in Washington.

President David Kabua and First Lady Ginger Shoniber Kabua attended the virtual oath of office ceremony for the newly-appointed RMI Ambassador-designate.

The Chief Justice administered the oath to Ambassador-designate as Paul’s wife Dixie Lomae and their son held the Bible.

Remarks were delivered by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Jack Ading and President Kabua.

This is Paul’s second tour as RMI ambassador to the United States. He held the position during the Obama administration.
