A new “solar car park” is in the process of installation at the Public School System parking area in Delap.

It’s funded by the Taiwan Embassy and supplied by Speedtech Energy, a Taiwan-based solar company. Local company Green Energy Solutions is the contractor, collaborating with Speedtech, National Energy Office and PSS for local installation and implementation of the project.

It’s a 79.8 kilowatt standalone solar system which is anticipated to allow the adjacent PSS facilities to go totally off-grid via a combination of solar panels, batteries and transformers.

There are also two manual switch gears to allow PSS to switch between the solar system and MEC grid power, providing them with flexibility and control over their power usage.
