Domestic vote results show that first time candidate Sherwood Tibon has received the most votes, 2,832, in the RMI election and is on his way to being among a group of new younger members of the Nitijela when it convenes in early January.
Joining Tibon are incumbents Tony Muller, Brenson Wase and David Kramer, and another newcomer, recently retired US Army veteran Kalani Kaneko who is in fifth in the five-seat contest. Incumbent Phillip Muller has 1,597 votes in sixth place to Kaneko’s 2,081 — a nearly 500-vote deficit that is unlikely to be changed by incoming postal ballots.
At Kwajalein, the domestic vote has gone for incumbent Mike Kabua (1,189), first-time candidate David Paul (967) and long-serving Jaluit Senator Alvin Jacklick (895). Incumbents Tony deBrum (652) and Jeban Riklon (552) are in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
At Jaluit, Casten Nemra is leading the Jaluit and Majuro absentee to Jaluit vote with 378 votes, and Daisy Alik Momotaro was second at 329. Incumbent Rien Morris was third at 275, while Frederick Jitto deBrum was fourth at 247.
Bruce Bilimon (356) is outpacing incumbent Michael Konelios (261) and candidate Charles Takao Domnick (126) at Maloelap.
