Netflix has become a household name across Micronesia since the introduction of fast wifi.
What many Micronesians may not be aware of is that famed Micronesian boxer Jennifer Dugwen Cheing plays a role in the new Netflix hit “Bruised” that stars Halle Berry as the main character. The movie is about Mixed Martial Arts, which the Yapese-Filipino is famous for having competed at regional and international Olympic competitions.
Jennifer was the only Micronesian female athlete to win gold during the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea. She also represented Federated States of Micronesia at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
