Youth to Youth in Health celebrated its 39th anniversary and the reopening of its office with a special event for youth, families, and communities the last week of June.
The all-day event offered free health screenings in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Human Services, helping the community access important health services. There were also fun activities for kids, making the day enjoyable for families.
“Today is not just a celebration for us, it’s for our youth, their families, and the RMI community,” said Youth to Youth in Health Director Cathner Abner in opening the day of activities. “We’re excited for what’s ahead and hope this day shows that we are back and ready to continue our mission to empower and support RMI youth, focusing on their health and well-being, and helping them build brighter futures.”
Youth to Youth in Health is one of RMI’s longest-serving non-profits, but was sidelined for much of 2023 and 2024 due to a gap in grant funding. It reopened early this year with the support of International Planned Parenthood Federation and the Australian government.
