Marshall Islands wrestler Zyra Neimana was called to honor last week by the Pacific Mini-Games organizers in Palau, who named her the “Most Outstanding Junior Female Athlete of the 12th Pacific Mini-Games.”

Zyra won a gold medal in her match during the competition.

The Marshall Islands Wrestling Federation congratulated her on social media.

This is the first time that a Marshallese wrestler has been accorded this honor in Pacific Games regional competition.

Male and female wrestlers won six of the 12 total medals won by RMI athletes at the Mini-Games in Palau, including four of the five gold medals won.
