Over $11,000 had been raised as of Tuesday to support victims of cyclone Winston in Fiji by the RMI March for Fiji disaster relief fundraising group on Majuro. The money was accumulated from donations from companies and friends on island, a Curry Night at the Marshall Islands Resort, and a walkathon from University of the South Pacific to College of the Marshall Islands on March 19.

Group member Jennifer Seru confirmed the walkathon itself made $1,700. Raffle drawings were held at the end the walk. Almost every cash prize winners donated their winning to the cause. “The prizes were sponsored by the local community and are very much appreciated,” said Seru.
