233 great grads at CMI

The College of the Marshall Islands graduation ceremony last week saw the largest number of students to ever graduate from the Majuro school.

A total of 233 CMI students graduated during the ceremony.

In addition to the large number graduating, a number of students obtained either associate of science degrees or certificates in fields for the first time ever at CMI. These included:

• Associate of Science in Agroforestry, Melinda Tomeing.
• Certificate of Completion in Marine Science, Dashia Carland, Enion Kalles, Jr., Jerwan Lalimo, Leroy Dillard Juries, Mike Ronald, Rixie Paul and Xyrus Tui Ta’ani Silk.
• Certificate of Completion in Rating Forming Part of a Navigation Watch, Ala Teitieta Lussier, Banki Benjamin, Frankie Henty, Jiloji Jarom, Jude Samuel, Kiano Benson Peralta, Lina Harry, Lucky Leviticus, Lucky Osmond Jeto, Michael Kaneko, and Mokaji Loran.
• Certificate of Completion in Rating Forming Part of an Engine Room Watch, Anjo Sakaio, Anthony Jacob Atlaia, Stephen Namna and Tony Freddy.

The graduation ceremony speakers’ lineup included keynote speaker Nitijela Member Marie Davis Milne, Minister Gerald Zackios, CMI President Dr. David Newnham, Board of Regents Chair Meitaka Kendall-Lekka. The event was blessed by Rev. Clennter Leyrose.
