Here is more proof basketball is king in the Marshall Islands: when the Arkansas dream team paid a courtesy visit to the President’s Office last week, they were greeted by Acting President Mattlan Zackhras and Ministers Brenson Wase, Alfred Alfred, Jr, Thomas Heine and Kalani Kaneko — former basketball players in their younger days, with the exception of Kaneko, who said he is still playing basketball and would be happy to be an addition to help the under-manned Arkansas team.

Team Manager Albious Latior briefed the Cabinet on what the team will do while in RMI on top of competing in Constitution Day games: “We will be visiting Rita Elementary school and Majuro hospital as part of our outreach,” Latior told the Cabinet members.

Resources and Development Minister Alfred broke the good news that his department will have a house ready for the team the very next day.

Minister Wase said transportation will be provided for the team throughout the duration of their visit.

Alfred said a getaway picnic at Eneko was already scheduled for the team.
