Amb. Silk meets SG Guterres

RMI Ambassador to the UN John Silk and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres following the formal diplomatic credentials presentation.

Marshall Islands UN Ambassador John M. Silk presented his diplomatic credentials to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on June 19 at the United Nations in New York City.

Accompanied by spouse Mary Silk, Ambassador Silk’s presentation marks the formal start of his posting to represent RMI at United Nations Headquarters and throughout the UN system.

Following the presentation of credentials, Ambassador Silk and Secretary-General Guterres held a brief meeting and discussed the new UN Multi-Country Office in FSM, the upcoming Pacific Islands Forum meeting in Tonga, and the importance of stronger international efforts to address climate change.
