Happy faces at Enewetak

Happiness prevails among the Enewetak community following the receipt of Christmas gifts dropped by parachute by a Japan Air Force C-130 on December 9. It was part of Operation Christmas Drop, which delivers goodies to islanders in Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia and this year, for the first time, the RMI.

Take a look at these happy faces of Enewetak children and adults.

They are standing with some of the Christmas largesse that fell on them from the sky December 9, courtesy of the US-Japan-S. Korea-Canada-Australia-sponsored Operation Christmas Drop.

If we needed some further visual evidence that the annual Christmas Drop was a great thing, well here it is.

Enewetak was the first-ever in the Marshall Islands to be on the receiving end of OCD.

Next Christmas we’ve got our Santa’s wish already lined up: Please Santa, add additional islands in the RMI to your Operation Christmas Drop list for Christmas 2026!
