During the 2016 ROC-Taiwan Midshipman Training and Cruising Squadron visit, Ambassador Winston Chen presented a gift to RMI in  the form of a budgetary support check for $1.8m. “This gift to the people and Government of the Marshall Islands is for budgetary support as a token of appreciation to enhance our already strong relationship,” Ambassador Chen said.
