The latest edition of the Pacific Festival of Arts opened in Hawaii this past weekend, with the large Marshall Islands delegation joining two dozen other islands at the opening festivities.

The opening event was held at the Stan Sheriff Center at the University of Hawaii.

Marshall Islands delegation featured Miss Marshall Islands Claret Chong Gum, Minister of Culture and Internal Affairs Jess Gasper, Jr., CIA Secretary Brenda Alik, Council of Irooj Chairman Irooj Lanny Kabua, numerous performers, weavers and other members.

The opening ceremony was live streamed and the RMI portion went viral among the Marshall Islands social media community.
