The three women judges of the Marshall Islands judiciary participated in the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJ) Conference held in Indianapolis earlier this month.
High Court Judge Linda Murnane received more recognition, being honored with the Justice Vaino Spencer Leadership Award. This award honors outstanding leadership in promoting NAWJ’s vision, core values and mission and is presented annually, said Clerk of Courts Ingrid Kabua.
Joining Murnane at the judicial meeting and training in the US were Traditional Rights Court judges Grace Leban and Claire Loeak.
Kabua said the TRC judges were honored to be part of the RMI delegation to witness their college Judge Murnane receiving the award.
It was presented to Judge Murnane during the conference in Indianapolis by Judge Bobbie McCartney, who has been a United States Administrative Law Judge since 1994 and has served as the Chief Judge at United States Department of Agriculture.
