Guess who made sergeant in the United States Army? Majuro native Carmen Kobaia.
Carmen has been serving as a Transportation Coordinator (88N) for three years and four months and is currently stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.

Carmen initially served overseas in South Korea before transferring to the JBLM.
The 21-year old is the oldest daughter of Hilary and Selbina Kobaia.
Even though she completed her senior year in high school in US, she is a proud product of Majuro Middle School and Marshall Islands High School.

In her promotion ceremony last Monday, Carmen acknowledged: “Grace to God and thanks to everyone including my leaders, battles and family for being part of an important day to me.”
