Jaluit BA program takes off

The eight public school teachers on Jaluit enrolled in the new bachelor’s degree track program at CMI’s Distance Education Center on Jabor, with extension center Director Kenneth Fernando, back right.

Jaluit Distance Education Center is at it again, this time with the rollout of its Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education (BAEE) program recently.

The College of Marshall Islands extension in Jabor, Jaluit is already serving local students with Adult Basic Education and associate degree courses.
The BAEE program consists of teachers from the Public School System teaching in various schools in Jaluit.

Kenneth Fernando, who oversees the CMI center, says class start after 5pm to cater to full-time teachers, eight of whom are in the program.
“This is a quite a milestone,” Kenneth told the Journal.
