“We’re just going to check out the water,” members of visiting ACIDIC Band said during an early breakfast at the Marshall Islands Resort Tuesday morning. Next thing you know, they’re swimming in the water — minutes before their first gig with Seventh Day Adventist and Majuro Cooperative School students. In short, if excitement and energy had an offspring, you’d get ACIDIC. These highly motivated artists had students from SDA, Coop and Assumption jumping in anticipation on their first tour day in Majuro. The visit is sponsored by the US Embassy as part of its Arts Diplomacy program. ACIDIC was to tour more schools before throwing a rock concert in Laura Ball Field Thursday from 5:30pm and one at Delap Park Saturday from 6:30pm. Listeners in Majuro are in for a “greater” treat since concert impresario Daniel Kramer and crew are working side by side with the visiting band. You can tell these guys are the hottest buzz in town as evidence by the most asked question when they visit schools: “Are you guys single?”
