Maloelap is to face off with undefeated Lae for the championship title this Friday in the 2022 Ralik Ratak National Basketball Tournament.
Maloelap defeated Arno last weekend by eight points with an endgame of 70-62 to move into the championship game.
Lae continues to be the powerhouse after being the only team in the men’s tournament without a loss.
Lae won by a single basket following a physical game with top contender Majuro over the weekend with the end score 58-56.
On the women’s division, undefeated Lae will battle Majuro, the only other female team in the tournament, for the championship. Their game is scheduled for Friday this week.
The final four teams in the men’s division are: Lae/Maloelap going for the championship title and Majuro/Arno going for third place.
The tournament resumed last week following weeks off due to the Covid pandemic.
