Last Friday saw the commissioning of eight new police officers in the Majuro Atoll Local Government’s police division following an official swearing-in ceremony at the Delap police precinct.

MALGov Sheriff Rod Kabua deputized the new officers: five will be community police officers while three will work under the sanitation unit.
Prior to being commissioned, the officers underwent 90 days of hands-on training in police work.

Now that they are deputized, the officers can issue traffic ticket citations, initiate investigations, appear in court as arresting officer and make arrests.
The new officers are: Brandon Paul, Brandy Tisenjo, Braney Lanwe, Joma John Dribo, Titus Titus, Jeffrey Lorennij, Junior Lepton and Lati Lati.
