Iroojlaplap Michael Kabua cut the ribbon to officially open the newly dedicated meeting house on Ebeye for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Kwajalein Stake. This was the first time the paramount chief had attended an event organized by the church.

Elder Jeremy Jaggi, general authority of the church and second counselor to the Pacific Area Presidency, offered the dedicatory prayer.

There were 406 people present for the meeting house’s dedication, including visitors, dignitaries, and members of the congregations.

Kwajalein Stake President James Jelke, who conducted the program and delivered the welcoming remarks, told the gathering that the dedication of the buildings is a momentous and significant chapter for the stake.

Elder Jaggi told the Journal that he felt a profound spirit of love, happiness, and joy in the room. “The building was dedicated to worshipping Jesus Christ and to stand for a long time”, he said. He also commended Iroojlaplap Michael Kabua for being an active, devoted Christian. Iroojlaplap Kabua received a gift from Elder Jaggi in the form of a book called “Saints” that is based on the church’s history, teachings, values, and members.

A choir of young children known in the church as primary performed songs for the dedication ceremony.
