FAMI honchos road upgrade

FAMI board members Wilson Cinco, Dandee Bellosillo, and Maybelline Ipil met with Majuro Nitijela Member Steven Philip and Ministry of Works, Utilities and Infrastructure Minister Jiba Kabua to discuss the road improvement project.

The Filipino Association of the Marshall Islands is set to launch a Majuro road improvement project.
A team of FAMI officials met with Majuro Member of Nitijela Stephen Philip, and Works Minister Jiba Kabua and Secretary Catalino Kijiner to brief them on the plans for the “Bayanihan Road Reflectors Installation” to start in January 2021.
“Bayanihan” means helping one another and sharing resources toward a common vision. This project aims for the community development in Majuro. Road reflectors are essential for road safety at night.
FAMI officials said the dream is to install road reflectors from Rita to Laura.
One of the main objectives of Bayanihan road reflectors is to serve the forthcoming 2022 Micronesian Games. The event is expected to attract tourists to Majuro along with the sports delegations from many participating islands.
FAMI said the plan is to finish its installation ahead of the Games.
The Trust Company of the Marshall Islands is one of the first sponsors of the road improvement project.
