Staying Current

Mostly unknown to people outside of the Marshall Islands High School community, the students are cranking out a regular school newspaper. It’s called The Current and is loaded with stories and photos from around the campus.

The latest issue includes a Q&A with students giving their opinions about the changed final exam schedule — some liked it, others didn’t. A special on teacher appreciation day with an errant apostrophe in a headline, offering an opportunity for future improvement.

A feature story addresses the still vacant MIHS dormitory, still empty 17 months after it was blessed and opened in 2020. Apparently plans are evolving to open it with the January semester.
The students also debate the morning gate lockup policy of the school administration and offer a crossword puzzle to expand people’s minds.

There’s more, too, but you get the idea.
