President Hilda Heine, Cabinet members and diplomats took a tour of the Nitijela’s new but still under construction building Tuesday afternoon with Jerry Kramer and Pacific International Inc. officials.
The occasion marked completion of installation of the roof over the building, which will now allow PII to step-up its work operations to complete the interior of the building.
PII, which started work on the building late last year, had an August 31 target for completion. But because of shipping delays and other issues, the completion date target has moved to October 31, according to PII.
PII Manager Bobby Muller said completion of the roof allows for two shifts of workers to work on the interior, increasing the pace of progress.
