The 42nd Constitution Day Saturday May 1 brought everyone to an atmosphere of pride and celebration.

The program started with an outrigger canoe race with Hirobo Obeketang, Alson Kelen, and Melvin Majmeto officiating the race. This was followed by a parade from Delap Formosa to Delap Park. Included in the parade were members of the police, schools, and workers from government and non-governmental organizations. After the program everyone visited the various booths to check out the food and merchandise on offer.

The event spiraled as it went to a nighttime showcase with Miss Marshall Islands Billma Peter, Alson, and Melvin hosting the show from 7pm to 10pm. The show featured great entertainment from bands such as the legendary Laura Settlers, dancing groups, and many more artists.

Closing off this momentous occasion was a heavy rain, a blessing to the people of the Marshall Islands that the event was a success.
