Xavier High School (XHS) in Chuuk is currently accepting new student applications to supplement the school’s low student population.

The development was announced by XHS Director Fr. Thomas “Todd” Kenny, SJ, during the Navigator Award ceremony at the Robert Reimers Enterprises last Saturday.

During the ceremony, for which Fr. Todd flew to Majuro, Mejit Parliament Member Dennis Momotaro received the first-ever Navigator Award, becoming the first XHS alumni to receive this honor.

“The Navigator Award publicly recognizes those Xavier alumni who live the ideals of competence, conscience and compassion of the school and has been credited to the Friends of Xavier (FOX) community and the school through outstanding achievement in their service to Humanity,” XHS Director Fr. Todd.

During the program, Fr. Todd said the school is recruiting interested students. Those with exceptional grades are encouraged to contact the school or local alumni in Majuro through the Marshall Islands Friends of Xavier (MiFox) group.

Several Marshallese students from Ebeye and Majuro are expected to join the Xavier student ranks in January due to the pandemic. Eight Marshallese students are already at the school.
